Finding a recipe for success
Sandy Lane Farm were early adopters of Growing Good, going live on an early version of the platform more than three years ago. Since then, they’ve steadily reshaped their online shop around how customers actually want to buy: flexible veg boxes, easy add-ons, clear deadlines, timely reminders and content that genuinely connects people to the farm. Rather than chasing growth through paid marketing, George and the team focused on improving the shopping experience week by week — making it simpler to browse, easier to swap items, and more tempting to discover something extra while online.
The results speak for themselves. Sandy Lane Farm is now trading between 50 & 75% up on 2022, with average basket spend rising from £21 to nearly £27+. By combining thoughtful communication, smart use of data, and small, incremental improvements enabled by Growing Good, they’ve built a loyal customer base that shops more often, spends more per order, and feels genuinely connected to where their food comes from — even in the face of a tough retail climate..

Sales value
Since moving to Growing Good we have transformed our customer shopping experience and significantly reduced the time spent on weekly admin tasks. Despite a big rise in the cost of living and very little in the way of advertising spend, we have managed to grow both customer numbers and average basket spend. Since the end of 2022 we have increased sales by around 75% - we couldn’t be more pleased.
